Garage Conversion The Project: With a home office occupying one room of their home this client wanted to explore the idea of tearing down a small garage and replacing it with a slightly larger one with an Office / Studio above. The small single car garage became a small but usable two car Garage with a beautiful Office and Bath above including usable plumbing for a future Kitchen. This allowed for a very short commute for the homeowner and the Office can also easily be granted status as an Accessory Dwelling Unit, (ADU). Due to the new proposed position of the garage we applied for and successfully obtained a “Variance” from the City before proceeding. Special Note: New upper office area has open beamed vaulted ceiling with intersecting ceiling lines. Added addition facing existing home for ease of access and additional space. The Garage now holds two cars.
