Home Addition and Kitchen Remodel The Project: Mom, Dad and three adolescent girls needed more room and a logical layout of bedrooms as well as the desire to “complete” the jagged look of the side of the home. Reluctant to add an additional Bathroom and a Bedroom to the upper floor, the home owners where asked to visualize the future with three teenage girls vying for one small bathroom, ...the homeowners willingly accepted that an additional Bath was critical. On the main floor the small Family Room was enlarged for numerous “girl” gatherings and designed to include its own Bath, Storage, and enlarged Laundry as well as a Mudroom entrance to the Garage. The Kitchen was also enlarged and fully remodeled. Special Note: Light and access to the rear yard and deck was a priority for this family of three young girls, mom and dad and the dog. Main Floor • Add 4’ onto Kitchen with French Doors to back yard and view of Greenway • Completely remodel Kitchen • Enlarge existing Family Room for girls “Rumpus Room” and • Add a Shower/Bath • Enlarge and reconfigure the existing Laundry and • Provide Mudroom access to Garage Upper Floor • Add Additional Bedroom with Walk-In Closet • Add Additional Bathroom with two sinks and two access doors • Add onto two existing Bedrooms • Remove existing Master Bedroom windows and replace with French Doors leading to the new waterproof deck over Kitchen addition below Size before: 2854 square feet Size after: 3630 square feet |
